Abstract englisch

The aim of the project is to make soil data sets available in Austria as well as project results such as maps or evaluations more easily accessible to all interested parties and to make them usable for pedological questions. For this purpose, comprehensive research is carried out by means of questionnaires at institutions dealing with soil data in Austria in order to make data stocks and details of their availability and use-specific application possibilities in soil protection visible. The results are evaluated, edited and entered into a clear website structure under its own domain. A translation of the information into English should also enable or facilitate access for non-German-speaking users and project partners. The future soil data information portal thus offers the possibility to quickly provide national and international interested parties and project partners as well as the European Commission, if required, with relevant information and to present the data situation in Austria in a central and structured way. On the basis of the suggestions collected from the data holders, which are important for a joint soil data management in Austria, recommendations for the future shared handling of soil data will be jointly developed with the involvement of important stakeholders such as Finanzbodenschätzung, the BEV or the IKT. This offers the opportunity to ensure the provision of high-quality, up-to-date soil data in Austria for the future and to secure the data basis for Austria for soil protection-related issues.
