| The project Seedmix aims to answer important questions for future grassland management in Austria and South Tyrol, related to a changing climate with increasing drought periods.
On 7-9 different sites, in co-operation with five different partners, a randomised experimental design will be carried out in order to answer the following questions:
Are new grassland species (Festulolium, Festuca arundinacea) a valuable partner in seed mixtures for permanent 4- to 5-cut grassland?
Quantification of the additional value of top varieties in comparison to standard seed mixtures
Additional value of repetitive reseeding of permanent grassland
Additional value of permanent reseeding of permanent grassland with red clover
Results derived will be basis for future quality seed-mixture composition and education of farmers |
