Abstract deutsch

Abstract englisch

The use of modern information- and communications technologies (ICT) solutions can make an essential contribution to lift fallow potentials in the area of the logistics expiries within the wood based sector. ICT allows simulation and optimisation of processes (at the level of the single enterprises, as well as at level of the chains of delivery). Potentials of time and costreduction can be uncovered and been of use, namely by all enterprises in the Wood based Industry - regardless of size! The optimisation of the goods and flows of information in the single enterprises as well as in the whole chain of delivery strengthens the single actors, brings added value in rural (underdeveloped) regions and increases the (international) competitiveness. Moreover, a positive contribution to the lasting raw material care of home enterprises is made. The automation of processes by the application of innovative solutions in the area ICT increases the process quality and reduces the mistake frequency and with it linkedly a reduction in costs. Sensor technology and "data standards" are essential factors to set up ICT solutions successfully in the Forest and Timber industry or to integrate into the processes. Pilot projects show that especially at the beginning of the developments the application of these technologies with higher added value products is more successfully and more quickly (unit cost of sensors / RFID-Tags). Tags in single trunks (exception worth wood trunks) or single boards is not moveable from today's view ¿ state of the technology ¿ economically. Bigger units like timber packages or truck loads should stand in the focus of investigations. However, the first steps have shown that from sides of the enterprises big interest insists on examining application possibilities in the area of Information- and Communication technologies or on developing whole solutions.
