| In spring 2024, the federal government at the time decided to introduce the 2024/2025 craftsman bonus with a budget of EUR 300 million. The craftsman bonus aims to maintain employment in the construction industry in the face of recession and to stimulate growth and economic recovery. Specifically, the craftsman bonus is intended to provide financial support for work carried out in connection with the renovation, maintenance, modernization, creation, and expansion of privately used residential and living space in Germany. Applications for the craftsman bonus have been possible since July 15, 2024. As of September 30, 2025, around 168,000 applications with a subsidy volume of around EUR 134 million have been paid out to date.
The current federal government has committed to the craftsman's bonus in its 2025-2029 government program and has stipulated a timely evaluation. The evaluation will focus on the economic impact of the craftsman bonus in 2024/2025. |
