| The forensic securing of evidence and documentation of injuries sustained by victims of violence plays a central role in the criminal prosecution and conviction of perpetrators.
Since 2024, two pilot projects have been implemented for this purpose by the four presently participating federal ministries: one in the Eastern region (Vienna, Lower Austria, northern Burgenland; implementing institution: Medical University of Vienna) and one in the Southern region (Styria, Carinthia, southern Burgenland; implementing institution: Medical University of Graz).
These two pilot projects are being evaluated by Gesundheit Österreich GmbH (Austrian National Public Health Institute). |
